Blind Squirrel Productions was entrusted with the prestigious task of capturing, directing, and live streaming the highly-anticipated LPGA Rolex Awards in Naples, Florida. Tasked by the LPGA, we were stepping in to revolutionize the event’s production by replacing the conventional production truck that has long been associated with such endeavors. The decision to bring in Blind Squirrel Productions and our state-of-the-art flypack production system was necessitated by the limitations of traditional production trucks, namely their significant spatial requirements and the associated high costs. Our innovative approach aims to not only streamline the production process, but also enhance the overall viewing experience for the audience.
As we took the reins in Naples, our team was focused on leveraging cutting-edge technology to ensure a seamless and visually captivating live stream of the LPGA Rolex Awards. The transition to our streamlined production model not only aligns with modern technological advancements, but also reflects our commitment to delivering a cost-effective solution without compromising the quality and immersive nature of the live stream. The Challenge
Naples is a breathtaking canvas for the LPGA Rolex Awards, but it poses unique challenges as a technology and broadcast desert. Anticipating the technological landscape, Blind Squirrel Productions engaged in a series of planning calls with key stakeholders at the LPGA. We meticulously aligned priorities, with our client’s vision as our North Star, and charted the path to success.
The mandate was clear: bring everything needed and then some. Our preparation extended beyond just the essentials, with spare equipment standing ready to combat the unexpected. At the heart of our operational philosophy lies the conviction that resilience is the hallmark of success.

Creating The Experience
Success In A Digital Era
By the time we arrived on site, we were completely in sync with our LPGA counterparts. Our cameras worked in the courtyard outside the ballroom to host outdoor segments with the LPGA’s best and most respected as they arrived. In the ballroom, our cameras captured the action on stage, reactions from the audience, and coordination with the house production crew allowed for seamless integration with the presentations being displayed on screen. Our live stream went to the LPGA’s YouTube and social channels, as well as live to a special service dedicated to clipping out highlights and posting them to social media in real-time. At every stage of this process, our crew was professional, flexible, and eager to deliver, and it resulted in a broadcast-quality production at a fraction of the price. Following the event, all of our gear was packed up and loaded out in under 3 hours.
